LEGO Club
Brick by brick social connections.
This is a connection-focused program designed to support children in building social skills through shared creativity and play. The group emphasizes collaboration, communication, and flexible thinking while children work alongside peers to plan, build, and problem-solve together. Through structured and open-ended building activities, the program supports social awareness, cooperation, and confidence while prioritizing fun and positive peer connection.
Small Build Days
These days focus on creativity, independence, and shared enjoyment. Participants are supported in building their own LEGO creations while working alongside others in a relaxed, social environment. The emphasis is on self-expression, flexible thinking, and being part of a group without pressure to build the same thing or in the same way.
Big Build Days
The day centres on collaboration, teamwork, and shared problem-solving. Participants work together to plan and create a larger group LEGO build, practicing communication, turn-taking, and compromise in a supportive setting. The focus is on connection, cooperation, and experiencing success as part of a shared project.
Understanding our LEGO club and its purpose.
-
This program was developed by our team consisting of an RSW, CYC-P, and RECE. The theme was intentionally designed to support participants in building connection with others and the world around them, using a light, flexible approach that can be adapted across different age groups.
-
LEGO club is designed for participants who enjoy building and benefit from a supportive, low-pressure social environment.
It is well suited for children who want to practice social skills through shared activities, collaboration, and parallel play, and who benefit from structure, flexibility, and gentle support while interacting with peers.
-
Our clubs are held in the very same pod as our Skills4Success program. The layout of the pod is structured to allow for a highly flexible learning environment. The area is broken down into:
Desk Zone: strategically shaped in a “u” shape, this area is the designated working location for clients to develop their academic skills.
JASPER Stations: specifically setup as multiple breakout stations, all with different toys and activities to promote peer collaboration, creative play, and gross motor skill development.
Library Room: a semi-quiet working area and reading room that is attached to the pod to give opportunities for one-on-one academic support.
Sensory Room: a fully customized room designed to allow children to desensitize from the group environment and manage emotions.
-
While LEGO club is designed to be supportive, engaging, and enjoyable, it is a group-based program and may include periods of noise, movement, and shared building activity. Although staff prioritize emotional safety, flexibility, and positive peer interaction, we cannot guarantee that all sessions will be calm or predictable at all times. Participation, engagement, and individual experiences may vary, and not all children will respond to the group environment in the same way.
